TrustFido.com - The Art Of Sam Frazier *****

The online gallery of the Californian artist Sam Frazier is neatly divided into two large sections: Photo and "Artwork" - which here doesn't at all mean that the photos aren't works of art. Neither section is uninteresting, both have many good artworks. The photos are mainly shot as to look as candid, intimate pictures of close friends or lovers in what mostly looks like their private lives. In the bondage-inspired "Restraint" section of the photos, the surroundings are naturally a bit rougher, but here as well the photos mostly give a feeling more of peace and harmony than of violent restraint. An interesting contrast, and in the other sections the feeling of snapshots of gays having a good time with their loved ones is very marked. All with a nice sense of composition and colour, the photos are well worth a look.
The "artworks" are divided into two sections again, photo collages and other collages. The photo based section is by far the most interesting, with its mystical, dreamlike quality. The incorporated nudes take on a symbolic, often haunting quality in the artworks, making this section possibly the one most worth a prolonged visit.
TrustFido.com has much interesting art from a very prolific artist, and I rate it 5 out of 6 stars.
