The online gallery of British artist Matthew Stradling is a cornucopia of male nudes, flowers and jewels. Celebrating gay life in an excess of kitchy fun, he makes a painterly nudge to artists such as Pierre&Gilles. The paintings are separated into categories such as Luxury, Stillness, Portraits and Mirror, with an Erotica section to boot. The best paintings are in the Mirror section, which has truly excellent works of art. The other categories are also original and not at all uninteresting, but seems to have a higher proportion of earlier work of lesser, if not slight, technical merit. But even so the whole gallery is well wort a visit, and have plenty of gems.
